FAQ

  • What is A-BALL made of?
→ Collagen and seaweed. Basically jelly stuff. The same kind that makes edible jellies wiggle.

    Is it vegan?
→ Not yet. It’s got a bit of collagen in it. We’re waiting for the good vegan gels to catch up so your butt can stay vegan too.

  • How do you know it won’t get stuck?
→ Simple. If your body can pass poo, it can pass this. We made the softened ball act like the real thing.

How do I get it out?
→ It softens into a jelly-like texture and comes out with your next poo. Some can push it out right away, others just wait for nature’s call.

How do you know it’s safe?
→ The ingredients are non-toxic and bum-friendly. We even make sure the ball behaves like real poo, so your body knows exactly how to pass it.

    Is it compatible across lubricants?
→ So far we’ve tested with water-based lube. Silicone lube tests are coming soon. Stay tuned.

If you need to poop while it’s still in, what happens? Do you just push it out?
→ Yep. If you need to go, it’ll come out with your poo. No need to wait hours.(Full explanation here 👉 Instagram Reel

How does it stay in place. How do we know it won’t just fall out or go deeper than intended?
→ It only goes as far as you push it, and it’s designed to turn into a soft jelly-like texture so it can’t get stuck. Your rectum’s pretty chill at rest. Not enough pressure to pop it out. It only comes out when you actually strain, like during a poo.

    Can it come out unexpectedly?
→ We don’t think so. It’s too small to trigger the “gotta go” feeling. Unless you push, it should stay put. We’ll confirm for sure in trials later this year.

    Is A-BALL a medical device?

→ A-BALL is a sexual wellness product and not a medical device. A medical device is defined as a product intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, treat, or alleviate a disease or medical condition. A-BALL is not intended to treat or prevent any medical condition. It is designed for use during consensual sexual activity.

Does that mean it hasn't been tested or safety-checked?

→ A-BALL has undergone extensive safety tests. While A-BALL is not required to go through the medical device approval process, we take safety extremely seriously. The materials we use are already used rectally (in lube and suppositories),and are pharmacopia grade. We are also carrying out biosafety testing to ensure that the combination of these safe materials is also body-safe.

What technical and safety standards have been applied in developing A-BALL?

→ Even though A-BALL is a wellness product and not a medical device, we chose to apply rigorous standards more commonly associated with medical device development, because we believe that is the right thing to do for a product intended for internal use.

We used the following standards for guidance:

ISO 13485: the international standard for quality management systems in medical device manufacturing has informed how we manage and document our development and production processes.

ISO14971: the standard for risk management in medical devices has been used to systematically identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with the product.

ISO3533: the international sex toy standard has been used to inform design identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.

ISO10993: the standard for biological evaluation of medical devices, has guided our biocompatibility testing to ensure the materials are safe for contact with sensitive internal tissue. The specific tests being performed by an independent lab are:

    ·       ISO10993-5 Cytotoxicity testing

    ·       ISO10993-10 Sensitization testing

    ·       ISO10993-23 Irritation testing

Applying these standards was our deliberate choice to go above and beyond what is strictly required, reflecting our commitment to customer safety.

Why does the product not have a CE or UKCA mark?

→ A-BALL does not fall into the categories that require CE-mark or UKCA mark. Therefore, A-BALL cannot legally carry a CE/UKCA mark.

CE Mark and the UKCA mark are mandatory conformity marking for certain products sold in the European Economic Area (EEA). Items requiring UKCA and CE mark are:

     ·       Medical Devices

    ·       Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    ·       Electrical / Electronic Products

    ·       Machinery

    ·       Toys (specific to children's toys)

    ·       Construction Products

    ·       Pressure Equipment

  • Can I put it in before a date?
→ Best to pop it in right before play. We’ve tested up to 30 mins of foreplay and 30 minutes of sex, so keep it fresh.

    Does it come pre-lubricated?
→ Nope. Use your own favorite lube.

What about if I am having sex with a big penis?
→ Don’t worry. We test with all shapes and sizes, length and girth. Your anatomy’s on our checklist.

What if I have sex more than once in a day? Can I use two?
→ One at a time, babe. Wait until you’ve been to the loo before popping in another.

I saw on social media that it comes in different sizes, how will I know which one to use?
→ For now, it’s one-size-fits-most. We’ll learn more from trials, and if butts demand different sizes, we’ll explore. But honestly? The only way to know what fits is to try it.

  • When can I buy it?
→ Pre-sale live now on Kickstarter.

    How much will it cost?
→ £4 a ball. Hop on the waitlist now for 25% off for a whole year.

    How do I store it?
→ Just keep it at room temp. Don’t bake it in the sun!

A-BALL isn’t fully cooked yet. She’s still in the lab, squishy and evolving. We’re giving you the best answers we’ve got right now, but some of them may shift as trials, tests, and real butts weigh in.

This page is a living, breathing thing (like you). We’ll keep it updated as the science sharpens and the play gets field-tested. Until then, treat these answers as gospel-ish: honest, bold, and subject to change.
